Peanuts
High protein energy for trail mixes and homemade nut butters - your snacking staple.
What it is
Despite their name, peanuts are actually legumes that grow underground like beans and peas, not tree nuts. They develop in pods beneath peanut plants and are harvested from the soil.
Flavor and texture
Rich, nutty, and slightly sweet with a satisfying crunch when raw or a deeper, toasted flavor when roasted.
Best uses
Enjoy straight from the bin as a snack, blend into homemade peanut butter, chop into salads or stir-fries, or grind into flour for baking.
Storage & freshness
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry pantry away from heat and light.
| As purchased | 3-4 monthsalready exposed to air in bulk bins |

Durations are for best quality. Safe to consume longer if no spoilage signs present.
High oil content makes peanuts susceptible to rancidity when exposed to heat, light, or air.
Cooking tip
To enhance their flavor, toast raw peanuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently until fragrant and lightly golden.
Interesting note
Peanuts were one of the first crops grown in space, successfully cultivated aboard the International Space Station in 2015.
