Brazil Nuts

Rich in selenium for baking and snacking, your go-to premium nut.

What it is

Brazil nuts are large, wedge-shaped nuts that come from the Brazil nut tree, which grows wild in the Amazon rainforest. Each nut is harvested from large, round pods that can contain 12-24 nuts arranged like orange segments.

Flavor and texture

Rich, buttery, and slightly sweet with a dense, creamy texture that's softer than most nuts. They have a distinctive earthy flavor with hints of coconut.

Best uses

Enjoy them as a protein-rich snack, add to trail mix, chop into granola or oatmeal, blend into nut butter, or use in baking for cookies and cakes. They're also delicious chopped over salads.

Storage & freshness

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for best quality and longest shelf life.

Brazil nuts are very high in oil content and go rancid quickly at room temperature — refrigeration significantly extends shelf life.

Cooking tip

Store Brazil nuts in the refrigerator or freezer to prevent their high oil content from turning rancid, and eat them within a few months of purchase for best flavor.

Interesting note

Brazil nuts are one of the richest natural sources of selenium - just one or two nuts can provide your entire daily requirement of this important mineral.
