Coconut Oil Expeller Pressed

High smoke point for sautéing and baking, plus it's solid at room temperature making it your go-to cooking fat.

What it is

This is coconut oil that's been mechanically pressed from dried coconut meat without using chemicals or high heat. The expeller-pressing method preserves more of the coconut's natural flavor and aroma compared to refined versions.

Flavor and texture

Rich coconut flavor with a creamy, smooth texture when liquid. It's solid at room temperature but melts easily when warmed.

Best uses

Excellent for sautéing vegetables, making curry dishes, baking cookies and cakes, spreading on toast, or adding to smoothies for tropical flavor and healthy fats.

Storage & freshness

Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark pantry away from heat sources.

May solidify at temperatures below 76°F — this is normal and does not affect quality.

Cooking tip

Coconut oil solidifies below 76°F, so gently warm it in your hands or place the container in warm water if you need it liquid for recipes.

Interesting note

Coconut oil was once considered unhealthy, but research now shows that about 50% of its saturated fats are lauric acid, which may have antimicrobial properties and behaves differently in the body than other saturated fats.
