Maple Syrup Grade A Dark Robust

Deep maple flavor transforms pancakes, oatmeal, and baked goods into your favorite breakfast ritual.

What it is

Grade A Dark Robust maple syrup is pure sap from maple trees that's been boiled down to concentrate its sugars. This grade is harvested later in the maple season when the sap naturally develops darker color and stronger flavor.

Flavor and texture

Bold maple taste with hints of caramel and toffee, plus a smooth, pourable consistency that's thicker than honey but not as thick as molasses.

Best uses

Drizzle over pancakes and waffles, use in baking recipes, glaze roasted vegetables or meats, sweeten oatmeal or yogurt, or add to marinades and salad dressings for depth.

Storage & freshness

Store in a sealed container in a cool, dark pantry away from heat sources.

As purchased1-2 yearsindefinite if pure maple syrup
Sealed (pantry)2-3 yearsindefinite if kept sealed
Refrigerated3-5 yearsonce opened, prevents mold growth
Frozen5-10 yearswill not freeze solid due to sugar content

Durations are for best quality. Safe to consume longer if no spoilage signs present.

May crystallize over time — this is natural and syrup can be gently warmed to restore flow.

Cooking tip

Warm maple syrup gently before serving over pancakes or waffles - it spreads more evenly and soaks in better than cold syrup straight from the fridge.

Interesting note

It takes about 40 gallons of maple sap to make just one gallon of maple syrup, and the darker grades like this one are actually more nutritious, containing higher levels of antioxidants and minerals.
